The SIMNORAT project is aimed at cross-border cooperation and the sharing of best practices between Portugal, Spain and France, contributing to the implementation of the Directive establishing a framework for maritime spatial planning.

The case study between Portugal and Spain focused on the designation of a transboundary marine protected area covering the seamounts of Banco de Vigo, Banco Vasco da Gama and Banco da Galícia.
